What kinds of items do we pawn at T&C Pawn?

Most things of value! The most popular items pawned include gold jewelry, scrap gold, diamond jewelry, watches like Rolex, Movado, Tag Heuer, Citizen and others, quality tools including Snap-on, MAC, Makita, Craftsman, Milwaukee, Dewalt, Ridgid Tools and other industrial grade tools, firearms, coins, guitars, musical instruments, TVs, computers, metal detectors, camcorders, cameras, collectable items, video games and systems, knives...the list goes on and on! Part of the fun of this business is that it is different every day. We have over 40 years of collective experience in the pawn business and are still offered things that have never come in before! If you have an item you wish to pawn or sell please bring it in to either of our locations and we will inspect the item and make you an offer.

Firearms: All weapons must be in safe, working condition. All guns that use a magazine must be pawned with at least one magazine.

Coins and Paper Money: We accept all types of collectable coins and paper money. Value depends on grade and current market prices.

Gold Silver Platinum Jewelry: Gold, silver and platinum prices are based on daily rates per financial markets.  We offer higher amounts for gold coins.

Diamonds: We accept diamonds of all shapes, sizes and colors. We use a professional diamond tester to insure authenticity and we are all trained to grade the quality of most diamonds. Some diamonds may be referred to our in-house GIA-certified Diamond Specialist, JD Bota, for detailed grading.

Watches: We accept name brand watches that are fully functional and in good or better condition. If you have a high value watch, like a Rolex or Movado, YOU MUST PROVIDE PROOF OF AUTHENTICITY. Fake watches are nearly impossible to distinguish from the real thing. Without the box, all original paperwork and the sales receipt we may accept the watch as real but it will be worth very little for a pawn.

TVs:  We accept all types of TVs for pawn. LCD, plasma and DLP projection TVs are worth the most money. CRT, or tube, TVs have gone down significantly in value. Varying AV inputs and original remotes increase the value, sometimes by as much as $50 or more.  We no longer accept TVs over 5 years old. We will not accept any TV that has physical damage, especially to any part of the screen. Plasma and DLP projection TVs will have to be tested for 1 hour. We do not accept any plasma TV over 3 years old. You are welcome to wait with your TV or you can leave the store and come back. Many Plasma TVs have problems with "burn-in" that cannot be detected until the TV has been running for at least 1 hour. DLP projection TVs have common problems with their hardware that require extensive testing.

Electronics: We accept DVD players, surround sound systems, stereos, TIVO, DVD/VCR combos, iPods, mp3 players, speakers, projectors and many other home electronics. We will not accept any DVD player, or combo of any kind, without the original remote. Universal remotes are not considered replacements for DVD players. Any iPod or mp3 player must have the proper USB cord. If the mp3 player uses special software, like Creative and Sony units, we must have the software as well.

Video games: Systems must have one controller, power adapter and TV hook-ups. If it is a rare system, like a 3DO or NEO GEO, or a very old system, like an Atari, please bring a game so that we can test the system. We accept games for all video games systems. Disc-based games cannot be scratched. Instruction manuals and the original cases with insert may increase the value of a game.

Camcorders:  A charger, functional battery and at least one tape or DVD is required for a pawn, so we can test the camcorder. We accept 8mm, DVD, hard drive, memory card, miniDV and some other camcorder formats. We accept a limited number of SVHS camcorders. We can no longer accept VHS camcorders.

Household items and appliances: must be very clean and no older than 3 years. We do not accept any kitchen appliances or other items that come in direct contact with food unless they are brand new and never used. Vacuums must be clean and fully functional.

Musical Instruments: We take acoustic, electric and bass guitars, amps, mixers, speakers, combos, keyboards, acoustic and electronic drums, most stringed instruments and brass instruments. Cases and extras will add value to the item.

Cameras: We take most digital cameras. Prices are based on brand, megapixel rating and accessories. Digital cameras with a 5mp or less rating have a very low value. If the camera takes a special battery we must have at least one battery and the appropriate charger. We will only accept 35mm cameras if they are professional grade. Prices for 35mm cameras are based on eBay values.

Laptop and Netbook Computers: Must have Windows XP, Vista, Windows 7, Mac OSX, Linux or newer with a charger and working battery. It is not necessary to have recovery discs or a recovery partition on the hard drive but the value will be greatly decreased. Broken laptops have some value as long as the screens are in flawless condition. We MAY accept a broken laptop, but it has to be sold to us.

Values of computers change drastically and rapidly. A computer you purchased new 3 months ago costs half as much or less now. We always give more on computers if you sell them outright.

Desktop computers: must have Windows XP, Vista, Windows 7, Mac OSX or newer. It is not necessary to have recovery discs or a recovery partition on the hard drive but the value will be greatly decreased. LCD monitors will increase the value of a system and can be pawned separately. CRT, or tube, monitors are virtually worthless. We do not add value to computers for, nor will we accept separately, a CRT monitor.

Values of computers change drastically and rapidly. A computer you purchased new 3 months now costs half as much or less now. We always give more on computers if you sell them outright.

Tools: must be a quality make, such as Craftsman, Snap-On, MAC, Milwaukee, Makita, Porter Cable, Bosch, Dewalt, Ridgid and other QUALITY makes in very good condition. China is not a name brand. Most tools purchased from Harbor Freight or Northern Tool fall into the China category. We may accept those tools but they have very little pawn value.

Gas-powered Equipment: We accept all types of gas-powered equipment including generators, boat motors, lawn equipment, chainsaws and tools. They must be in good physical condition without any leaks. They must start easily. All equipment must have enough gas or gas/oil mixture to crank and run for 5 minutes. We do not provide gas for pawns.

Sporting Good and Exercise Equipment: We accept most sporting goods and exercise equipment. However, used sporting goods and exercise equipment have very little value compared to their new, retail price. For example, a new Bowflex Power Rod home gym costs $1600 brand new. We would only pawn that item for about $100. A used Bowflex with all necessary parts would only get about $50. Compare that to a new Mitsubishi 65” DLP TV, about $1000 brand new, which we would pawn for about $350.

All ITEMS MUST BE FULLY FUNCTIONAL! ALL KNOBS, DOORS, BUTTONS, CORDS, ANTENNAS, ETC MUST BE PRESENT AND WORKING! IF YOU NEED TO TELL US ABOUT HOW SOMETHING EITHER DOESN'T WORK, OR SORTA WORKS, OR WORKS SOMETIMES, WE DO NOT WANT IT! ALL ITEMS WILL BE TESTED FOR FUNCTIONALITY! SOME EXCEPTIONS MAY BE MADE FOR ITEMS THAT STILL HOLD VALUE EVEN WHEN DAMAGED OR NOT WORKING, BUT THE VALUE WILL BE VERY LOW AND WE WILL ONLY ACCEPT THESE ITEMS IF THEY ARE SOLD.

We do not accept ALL brands and/or models of the above items for pawns. We reserve the right NOT to take something, even if it is on this list, for any reason!
